Every year, Rowland Brothers take part in an event to challenge ourselves and to give us a target to get fit throughout the year. This year our challenge is Race the Sun Isle of Wight.

It is a difficult team challenge set in the stunning countryside of the Isle of Wight. Our team of four dads are challenged to cycle 22 miles, hike 12 miles of the Tennyson Trail, Cycle a further 22 miles and then Canoe 2 miles of the River Medina to the finish line. We start at sunrise and finishing by sunset – Racing the Sun! Our team, Steve Rowland, Niall MaGuire, Liam Hickey and Miles Wilson and we are The Dads Army. An integral part of our challenge is to raise funds for charity and this year we have chosen two charities:

Action Medical Research, offering hope to the many thousands of families across the UK who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure; and the

Lily Foundation – a charity dedicated to finding a cure for Mitochondrial disease and to assist affected families with advice, support and care for their children.

So if you can, pls donate £5 or £10 or whatever you can afford via our page thedadsarmy2017 and share with family friends to help us reach our target of £3500, we would very much appreciate it.
