Description
In order to organise a funeral, a considerable list of tasks has to be managed. From the booking of minister and ceremony space to the ordering of products, from internal planning to transportation, every step must be carefully processed and, in some cases, this must be done in the right sequence. Within larger organisations, tasks tend to be distributed among a number of employees or departments.

Eulogica has a task management system to automate this. For each funeral, tasks can be automatically generated and assigned according to the organisation and traditions of the business—and the requirements of the specific funeral. This helps achieving an efficient organisation and ensures nothing is forgotten.

But how to maintain a complete overview of ongoing work? Traditionally, manual checklists or boards on a wall would be used to show various jobs and their status. However, any manual system will become inaccurate and unreliable if not painstakingly maintained at all times.

While the Eulogica main program contains task lists, the Viewer module takes this to the next level and displays a bigger picture. An overview of many tasks and funerals is presented in a single display, organised in a matrix format with “traffic lights” to indicate current status. Total counts of tasks are also displayed. All of the information is refreshed at certain intervals.

Additional information
The Viewer can be configured to show a matrix of information, configurable according to the needs of a particular office, manager or other entity within the business. Each row represents a funeral, and the columns show selected details or status information.

The information is regularly refreshed according to a pre-set interval. Whenever a new funeral is registered in Eulogica or a task is updated on some other computer in the network, the Viewer will quickly reflect the new information. Updates made by way of the Eulogica Companion mobile app are also reflected in the Viewer. [1]

Funeral Directors will naturally wish to monitor other tasks than a financial employee or a transport department. Hence, the Viewer can be configured in many different ways – showing only tasks related to particular funerals, only tasks relevant for particular offices or functions, only those funerals that have outstanding tasks, etc.

The views do not need to be large or complex. Smaller views can be configured for specific purposes—like, the responsibilities of one person. Different offices or staff members can have their own Viewers configured to show the details most relevant to them.

Not only funerals
While the organising of funerals is the most obvious scenario where many tasks need monitoring, it’s not the only one. With Eulogica, tasks can be configured and auto-generated for any transaction or activity, like pre-planning or transport operations. The resulting status information can be displayed in a separate Viewer, or together with funeral-related tasks.

On the wall
The Viewer is regularly refreshing itself, and needs no user interaction – hence it is suitable for display on a wall-mounted screen, in place of a traditional whiteboard or similar. Or why not fit several screens, for displaying information about distinct aspects of the business? While a computer is required for powering the Viewer, a single machine can control multiple screens. A single screen can also display multiple Viewer windows. [2]

Getting started
The first step is to consider where you would like to place a Viewer. On the wall? In a number of offices? Or just in a corner of your screen? Another important question is what tasks exactly you would like to keep an eye on. Once you have an idea about this, just contact Eulogica—and we will discuss how best to proceed!
