A Massive Undertaking

Nick Armstrong on Hadrians Wall

Nick Armstrong on Hadrians Wall

This October Nick Armstrong of Armstrongs Funeral Service, Bury St. Edmunds will be hiking the length of Hadrian's Wall from his homeland of Newcastle to Carlisle. Nick will be walking the 86 miles in just three days, carrying all his equipment, sleeping on the wall and, just to make it more of a challenge, will be doing it in full funeral attire.

Armstrongs have been a Eulogica client for some time and we are happy to support Nick in his challenge.

The trek will be in aid of St Nicholas Hospice. “The hospice needs as much support as it can get. They do such an important job for people in the area. It’s a sad statistic but most of us will at some time have a friend or relative who will need the help and support of the hospice.” says Nick. “The average time to walk it seems to be five days, with most people taking a week. I plan to do it in three! This will mean hiking for up to 12 hours a day covering 26 miles per day”

Nick is hoping to raise over £1000 for the charity. His previous challenges have included canoeing down the Amazon and trekking the Great Wall of China. “My last challenge for the hospice was climbing 24 peaks in the Lake District in 24 hours and I managed to raise just over £1000, I would really like to beat this with my latest adventure”
