"All the configuration work was completed efficiently and with minimum fuss"

'The Eulogica Software is very much a comprehensive system and gives a far better end result than our previous system,' comments Edward Williams-Price at the funeral business of Stanley J. Nicholas in Wales. 'Although it took some time to get used to using the new software, once all the data and other information has been entered into the system it is quite easy to use...'

The funeral business of Stanley J. Nicholas was started back in 1946 after the end of World War 2 and moved to the present site in Pengam in 1951. A couple of years later saw the introduction of the first Chapel of Rest in the Rhymney & Sirhowy Valleys by Stanley Nicholas. In 1965 the first Mercedez Benz Hearse in the UK was made for the firm. The next generation started in the business when Stanleys Niece and husband to be joined in 1967. The third and current generation, Edward Williams-Price, joined in 1988.

The previous funeral software had run its course and it was time to upgrade. Edward took the opportunity to evaluate the current market situation at the 2007 Funeral Sevice Exhibition at Stoneleigh and was very impressed by the Eulogica Funeral Management Software. Having had time to evaluate the market, Edward made another first for the company by becoming Eulogica's first client in Wales.

Work started when Eulogica's Client Support Manager David Wright spent time with Edward looking at the specific needs of his company. 'David's prior knowledge of the funeral industry proved invaluable in assesing our specific needs and requirements of the software.' says Edward. 'All the configuration work was completed efficiently and with minimum fuss,' he continues.

A simple example of how Eulogica can be tailored to suit an individual funeral director is the Shop Window Notice report which was required by Edward. This is a notice detailing funeral arrangements which is then displayed in various local shop and post office windows around the area.

Unfortunately Edward had an awkard fall several months ago, and has suffered following the accident. He has had to have an operation on his leg which has left him office bound, which as we all know is not good for a funeral director. However, this has given him time to examine the Eulogica system in more detail, allowing some fine tuning, with the result of a much improved finish for both the client and firm.

'On the support side of things we haven't actually had any real problems with the software. We have only needed to use support for minor adjustments to the system as we have started to use it and get used to it. These adjustments have again been installed remotely and smoothly.'
