In 2013, the National Association of Funeral Directors’ Conference was held at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel near Southampton on 16th-19th May. Eulogica was represented by Client Support Manager, Nick Stokes and Marketing Assistant, Laura de Waal. Attendees were funeral directors and other related funeral companies from England and abroad.

While enjoying a barbecue and drink the conference was opened by NAFD President Steve Pearce on Thursday. On Friday was the AGM, and interesting educational sessions about the charity Penhaligon’s Friends, and methods of sending cremated remains into space. On Friday evening participants and partners were taken to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu for a private viewing and a delicious buffet dinner.
Saturday was Education day, with further sessions on the new Diploma in Funeral Directing, and a very lively presentation from motivational speaker Adrian Webster. The day concluded with a black-tie banquet, giving the attendees chance to relax over a very enjoyable dinner. Many toasts were given and Laura was amazed to hear the various regions serenade the President and his lady! The evening was concluded with a raffle, and a lively disco.
The final session on Sunday was the closing ceremony with the installation of the officers for 2013/14, where the outgoing National President Steve Pearce handed the chain over to new President Simon Fisher, who gave his inaugural address.
