The first weekend of November saw the 2016 BIFD Conference take place at the Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate. The weekend saw the conclusion of Eulogica client Clive Pearson’s year in office as President.

NAFD Conference 2016

The weekend of 19th May to 22nd May saw members of the Eulogica team attend the 2016 NAFD AGM at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. This is the first time the NAFD conference has been held in Belfast.

Funeral Times Trade Show 2015

Time passes so quickly, and it’s already exhibition time again for the Eulogica team.

In three weeks’ time, on the 29th and 30th September, Eulogica will be exhibiting at the Funeral Times Trade Show at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin.

Beaumont Funeral Directors begin Eulogica implementation

Lanigan Funeral Directors, of Beaumont and Cabra, have begun the implementation of a bespoke Eulogica funeral administration system. After a detailed evaluation of all the options available, they decided that Eulogica offers the package to suit their requirements. “Our instinct was that the Eulogica system was the right one for us,” explains Eddie Buckmaster of Lanigan’s, “but we needed to examine all of the available options to be sure of making the right decision. The Eulogica team patiently answered our questions, and took the time to make sure we were happy with our choice.”

It’s all systems go at the UK Eulogica office at the moment, as the team puts the finishing touches to the stand for next week’s National Funeral Exhibition at Stoneleigh Park.

 

NAFD Yorkshire Federation AGM

 

On 18th April 2015, the Yorkshire Federation of the National Association of Funeral Directors held its AGM at the Cedar Court Hotel, Huddersfield. The occasion was hosted by outgoing Area President Clive Pearson and Eulogica was represented by Nick Stokes and Dave Ball.

Porteous Funeral Directors, based in Edinburgh, are currently going through the Eulogica installation process as part of a wider systems update incorporating hardware, software and telephony upgrades. The system will ultimately be accessible from all of their branches across Edinburgh, allowing efficient, centralised operations producing accurate and consistent documents and data.

A real 100% system

Based in Ushaw Moor, County Durham, Alderson’s was founded by Robert William Alderson as joiners and undertakers in 1921. The current owner, Norman Alderson, joined the business in 1980, and today works with assistant funeral directors Chris Williams and Tina Pickering. Norman is a Past president of the British Institute of Funeral Directors, and has also served the Institute as a tutor on the Diploma in Funeral Directing course.

SAIF AGM Banquet weekend 2015

The weekend of 20th to 22nd March 2015 saw members of the Eulogica team attend the 2015 SAIF AGM and banquet. David Wright and Nick Stokes from the UK, Geir Bakke from Norway, and Laura de Waal from the Netherlands represented Eulogica at the beautiful Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor.

NFE Competition Winner

During the 2013 NFE at Stoneleigh, Eulogica Bespoke Funeral Software and Adstate Online Memorials held a competition on their stand for a lucky couple to win a Mediterranean cruise. The prize entry was part of a newsletter where half a dozen multiple choice questions needed to be answered. All the answers were in the articles within the newsletter. The winner was drawn on the Sunday of the NFE exhibition by the then NAFD president, Simon Fisher.

SAIF Yorkshire Regional Meeting

The 18th of June saw Eulogica’s Client Support Manager, Nick Stokes, attending another SAIF Regional Meeting, this time on home soil in Yorkshire. Held at the Holiday Inn in Ossett, the meeting was, as usual, chaired by SAIF Executive Chairman Alun Tucker.

We are pleased to announce that Eulogica will participate in the VTU Vakdag, a funeral supplies exhibition in the Netherlands. The Funeral Suppliers Association (VTU) are organising the first VTU Trade Day to be held in October. Eulogica will be one of more than 50 participants.

SAIF East Anglia Regional Meeting

The latest SAIF regional meeting was held in the picturesque market town of Newmarket on 21st May, and Eulogica were represented by Client Support Manager Nick Stokes. The evening was again hosted by SAIF’s Executive Chairman Alun Tucker, who also gave an update on SAIF affairs.

SAIF North East Regional Meeting

On 30th April, Eulogica’s Nick Stokes attended the North East regional meeting of SAIF at the beautiful Ramside Hall Hotel on the outskirts of Durham. The evening was hosted by SAIF’s Executive Chairman Alun Tucker, and featured a SAIF update from President Mark Woollard, followed by a thought-provoking presentation from Alan Cox, a bereavement counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care.

After dinner, an update was given by Golden Charter’s Head of Operations, Martin Coia, followed by short presentations from each of the various Associate Members present at the meeting.

The Ramada Plaza hotel on the seafront at Sunny Southport was the venue for the recent SAIF AGM. Many funeral directors and suppliers attended the weekend to celebrate the culmination of National President Richard Edwards’ year in office.

Steve Rowland Running London Marathon 2014

Once again, Steve will be running the marathon in memory of his late sister, Melanie Walkling who passed away in April 2012. He is raising funds for St. Christophers Hospice who looked after Melanie during the last weeks of her life and The Brenda Kirby Cancer Centre who provide care and assistance to cancer sufferers in New Addington and the surrounding areas.

Bristol Funeral Directors Visit Lodge Brothers

Bristol Funeral Directors were part of the original user involvement group set up to help develop the Eulogica funeral software for the UK market. Over the years they have had their Eulogica funeral software tailored further to suit their needs. However, the software was only ever installed at their head office in Bristol. As the number of branches has increased over the last few years they have been looking at rolling out Eulogica to all their outlying branches. To give them an idea of how this has worked in practice, Eulogica's David Wright suggested that they visit Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors to find out their experience of rolling out Eulogica to 40 branches.

NAFD Conference 2013

In 2013, the National Association of Funeral Directors’ Conference was held at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel near Southampton on 16th-19th May. Eulogica was represented by Client Support Manager, Nick Stokes and Marketing Assistant, Laura de Waal. Attendees were funeral directors and other related funeral companies from England and abroad.

The National Funeral Exhibition - 7, 8, 9 June 2013 Stoneleigh

Every two years the National Funeral Exhibition takes place at Stoneleigh Park.

On 7, 8 and 9 June 2013, once again, the Eulogica and Adstate teams will take part in this exhibition. NAFD Yorkshire Federation AGM

The 2013 NAFD Yorkshire Federation Annual General Meeting was held at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford on 27th April, and Eulogica were represented by Client Support Manager, Nick Stokes. Prior to the AGM itself there was an opportunity for attendees to view exhibition stands from various suppliers to the profession, some local and some from further afield.

Embassy reception for Eulogica

Funeral Directors from Norway and the UK gathered at the Norwegian ambassador's residence in London in the Autumn of 2006, for a reception where Eulogica Ltd and the Eulogica funeral software was presented. Invitations had been sent to various contacts and clients of Eulogica. Some 40 people signed up for the arrangement, including Funeral Directors and their partners, officials from the embassy, and other interested parties.
